About Turbium

Turbium exists because the wind at a turbine is a property of the ground it stands on, and the forecasts the power industry runs on cannot see that ground.

We build the forecast that can: the site's real elevation at meter scale, the flow resolved over it down to the individual machine with the operational forecast supplying the synoptic setting at the edges, and a generation model calibrated on observed output rather than a datasheet. Everything we claim about accuracy is measured against ERCOT 60-day SCED generation data, because that is the only reference in this market that is both public and real.

We come out of a lab at Berkeley AI Research (BAIR), and the habits came with us: the method is written down, the yardstick is named, and a number is reported with the sample it was measured over or it is not reported at all.
